Better yet, go back and look at the ads over time. The marketplace does, slowly, respond to grassroots-driven reality pressure. Doctors no longer are shown sitting at the desk recommending Salems to their patient; they are not used to promote the healthful benefits of camel; said to be good for the throat, the digestion, the nerves. We are still pushing those SUVs though; they are already among us and need to be sold, don’t want to take too big a loss on ignoring the reality of waste. Everything has to get to a certain place to change. A critical mass of information that no longer supports the cultural, media driven beliefs has to form to push us over into rethinking our accepted norms as a society.
